My Story
My name is Polly, and I’m the one behind every piece of jewellery you see here.
Bumble & Harlow began in 2020, after I arrived home from travelling around Europe for two years with my boyfriend. I found myself drawn to creating, starting with natural lip balms, which quickly turned into my first little business.
Not long after, I completed my first jewellery making course where I learnt the basics. From there, most of what I know has come from being self-taught through lots of trial, error, and a genuine love for the process.
I’ve always loved collecting little things from the beach, so combining that with jewellery felt natural. That’s where sea glass became the heart of everything I create.
Each piece of sea glass started its life as something discarded, often old bottles or glass that’s been broken and lost to the ocean. Over many years, the waves slowly shape and soften it, creating that smooth, matte finish. What was once considered waste becomes something beautiful again.
I collect most of my sea glass from local beaches here in South Australia, as well as from around Australia and parts of Europe. I don’t alter or reshape the glass, every piece is kept exactly as I find it, which means no two are ever the same.
To me, there’s something really special about giving these pieces a second life, turning something once forgotten into something meaningful that can be worn and kept.
There are so many plans for Bumble & Harlow in the future, but for now, I just want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported (and continues to support) my small business. It truly means the world.
